Hey there, Matthew Wilson here. I am a professional writer and editor from Melbourne, Australia, and here’s a little bit about myself.
Ever since I was a child, I’ve always had an interest for storytelling and words. It started out as a childhood hobby of writing stories that were only half a page long, but it was in high school when I started reading novels and magazines, as well as having a huge appreciation for movies and specifically screenwriting, that made me realise the power of words. That led me to study at Victoria University where I studied for five years from 2006 until 2010, in which I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing, as well as a Diploma and Certificate IV in Professional Writing And Editing. I wrote many articles and short stories in that time, many of which will be featured on this website.
Since graduating in 2010, I have written for numerous online magazines. Although I have had feature articles and reviews published on many websites, I have primarily written and been the Editor of two great websites I have had the absolute pleasure of being a part of. One is Milk Bar Mag, an online magazine on Melbourne culture and the great things and people of the Victorian city I call home; I am currently the Editor of this website and manage a team of terrific writers. The other is Bars And Nightclubs, an online magazine on Australian nightlife and a directory to all the hottest bars and nightclubs across Australia’s major cities. In this time, I have interviewed many fascinating people, from performers for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Cirque de Soleil, Absinthe, to restaurant proprietors and authors.
This website showcases both my professional and personal pieces of writing, anything from feature articles, short stories and extracts from feature length screenplays or novels. I am available for hire for any copywriting, news stories, editing and proofreading services, and much more. If you would like to get in contact me, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to hear from you.
